Margarita Sáenz Mir nace en Jaén el 29-12-1947 en el seno de una familia numerosa.
Inicia sus estudios de arquitectura en Madrid y cursa Artes y Oficios en Sevilla donde reside hasta su boda. Ingresa en la escuela privada de Bellas Artes EINA de Barcelona siendo sus profesores Albert Ráfols Casamada, Hernández Pijuan, Frederic Amat, Chancho, Artigau, entre otros.
En el 2009 cursa un Postgrado de dibujo de cuerpo humano en la Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad de Barcelona.
Trabaja diversas disciplinas: gravado, modelado, dibujo, etc., pero su verdadera pasión es la pintura en especial el óleo, aunque no descarta técnicas mixtas.
Las base de su inspiración son los sentimientos y las emociones incluso en su obra más figurativa como bodegones o tauromaquias donde le interesa más el movimiento, el color y la esencia que la representación fidedigna. Por eso la crítica, cuando analiza su obra, no duda en considerarla como intérprete de emociones ya que es capaz de exteriorizar sus sentimientos transcribiéndolos al espectador, por ello merece el calificativo de Retratista de Sensaciones.
En 2004, María Salvat le organiza una exposición antológica en las salas del Princesa Sofía de Barcelona e impulsada por este homenaje, aconsejada por la crítica y en especial alentada por el Dr. Carlos González López, de la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, crítico de arte y miembro de la "Organización Mondiale de la Presse Periodique", Sáenz Mir decide exponer parte de su colección inédita.
Margarita Sáenz Mir was borned in Jaen (Spain) on 29th December 1947 in a large family.
She started her studies of architecture in Madrid and Arts and Crafts in Sevilla, where she lives until she gets married with a Catalan and she moves to Barcelona. She is admitted to the private fine arts school EINA of Barcelona and her professors are Albert Rafols Casamada, Hernández Pijuan, Frederic Amat, Chancho, Artigau...
In 2009 she studies a postgraduate course on human body drawing instructed by the Fine Arts Faculty of Barcelona's University.
She works different disciplines: engraving, modelling, drawing... but her real passion is painting, although she doesn't rule out mixed techniques.
The support of her inspiration are the feelings, the emotions even in her most representational works like still life or bullfighting in which she is more interested in movement, colour and essence than in real representation. That's why when the criticism analyses her work doesn't doubt in considering her as an interpreter of emotions since she is capable of expressing and transcribing her feelings to the spectators, for this reason she can be described as Painter of Sensations.
In 2004 Maria Salvat organises a retrospective exhibition in the rooms of the "Princesa Sofia de Barcelona" and encouraged by this homage and advised by criticism specially by Dr. Carlos González López member of the "Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando" and "Organization Mondiale de la Presse Periodique", Sáenz Mir decides to show part of her collection.
